Online Lecture Series on Nuclear Non-Proliferation, Disarmament and Nuclear Energy

On 20 November, 27 November, 4 December and 8 December 2025, the Civil Council on Defense and Security (CCDS) organized a four-lecture online course on global nuclear security and disarmament, which brought together international and Georgian participants including students, policymakers, journalists and other interested audience members to discuss the control and elimination of the world’s most destructive weapons and the future of nuclear energy. The free series was delivered in English and was supported by CCDS’s colleague and long-time friend of Georgia, Dr. Thomas Jonter.

Conference “Empowering Voices for Inclusive Peace and Security”

The concluding conference, “Empowering Voices for Inclusive Peace and Security,” was held on 2-3 December 2024 in Tbilisi. During this 2-day event, project participants from across Georgia shared their reflections on the country’s current situation regarding inclusive peace and security and explored future perspectives. The exhibition “Through Her Gaze: The Silent Revolution of Georgian Women Artists” was opened as part of the conference.

First Regional BSWN Conference "Empowering Women in Nuclear: We All Can Do It"
06 November 2024CCDS boar member, Shorena Lortkipanidze took place in the first regional BSWN Conference, titled "Empowering Women in Nuclear: We All Can Do It", on November 5–6, 2024, at Ovidius University of Constanta. This event brought together experts, academics, and young professionals from the nuclear field to address key challenges and explore collaborative opportunities.
